Written for the fathers and mothers who are unseen and forsaken. May you know the nearness of God’s love.

This poem was born out of a journey with Uncle Trevor, a man from our community who fell gravely ill and had no family to care for him. What began as a small cry in prayer soon became a call to action. Friends, strangers, and even former colleagues stepped in, and we witnessed God’s hand move in ways we could never have orchestrated.

From discovering forgotten Navy documents, to doors opening in military hospitals, to funds raised by a tiny church, the story was nothing short of miraculous. Time and again, when we reached the end of ourselves, God provided a way — through people we didn’t expect, through systems we didn’t know existed, and through mercies that reminded us that He never abandons His children.

In the middle of loneliness, sickness, and neglect, we saw the goodness of God unfold. This poem is a reflection of that hope — a vow of presence, love, and faithfulness for those who feel unseen.

The Daughter You Need

I will hold you,
Cry with you,
Pray with you.
I’ll be the daughter you need.

I will understand you,
See you,
Reassure you.
I’ll be the daughter you need.

I will cry for you,
Care for you,
Fight for you.
I’ll be the daughter you need.

I will stand with you,
Provide for you,
Protect you.
I’ll be the daughter you need.

On your darkest day,
When the light begins to fade,
You will not be alone.
I’ll be the daughter you need.
